Bio (not IC)
Name: Sei Shonagon
Age: Late twenties
Height & weight: Four and a half feet tall. Nobly plump.
Physical description: Mostly looks like a small haystack of elegant layered robes in a tasteful and seasonally-appropriate combination of colors, regardless of the hour or the occasion. Asian. Round face, floor-length black hair with a few grey hairs. Wears white makeup, toothblack, red lips, and little soot-spots in place of her eyebrows during the day. Has no eyebrows after she washes her face.
Important medical issues: Chronic poor nutrition and vitamin deficiency. Sedentary. Otherwise in decent health.
Notes for psychics: Sei is a standard human and has no special defense or vulnerability regarding psychic effects. She is clever, extroverted, relentlessly observant, and steeped to the gills in the gossipmongery aesthetically-obsessed customs of the Heian Imperial Court circa oh, about 1000. She's constantly taking mental notes, thinking up poems and bits of neat phrasing, and shelving away all kinds of juicy and compromising details about others.
Skills of note: Very well-educated in both Chinese and Japanese history, literature, and arts (again, as of about 1000). A skilled writer. Knows her fashion. Can swoon on a dime.
Friendly physical contact: She would consider that very unseemly. The player is fine with it, certainly--but be warned that especially from a man, Sei will be unnerved and prone to self-defensive melodramatics.
Sexytimes: You mean "daytime naps"? Those are delightful! Only with people displaying the proper elegant sensibilities, of course. And prefer to mostly fade to black.
Violence: Gracious no. Violence is something other people do. Sei is wigged out even by pictures of it, especially the really grisly Chinese ones. She will never act violently herself, and will flee from the first sign of it in others, unless it's really stylish violence.
Killing: I'd rather you didn't. She has to get old (like 30! gasp!) in order to give the proper melancholy tone to the end of her book!
Anything else? Sei will gossip your face off and communicates largely through poems and in-jokey wordplay. She gets SERIOUSLY huffy at people who ignore all the work she put into a really quite delightful extended metaphor on a hummingbird. Seriously. It was choice.
